The Cantors

I would like to introduce myself. I am Sara Cantor, daughter of Lena Diamond Ginsberg,
(d – 8.2.43) and Joseph Ginsberg (d – 7.2.52). My mother was the oldest of the Diamond
siblings. There were 6 of us: My sister Beatrice (d- 2.14.44), brother David (d -
2.28.02), sister Edith (d- 3.21.06), my brother Samuel and sister Libby and myself are
survivors...

David married Miriam Singer and they had two children, Barbara (Charlie) and Leonard
(Linda). Barbara has two sons, two daughter-in-laws and 3 granddaughters. They all live
in Reading, PA. She and her husband are teachers. Leonard lives in Michigan and is the
Dean at Western Michigan University. He holds a PhD in DNA Research. Linda is a
Cardiac Nurse.

Edith married Irving Flick and had two sons, Leonard and Alan. They are both attorneys
in Philadelphia.

Sam married Corrine Polis and had a son, Arthur. Arthur died 6.16.06 leaving no family
behind.

Libby married Herbert Kohn and had a daughter Carol. Carol is a fiber artist and
freelance writer living outside of Philadelphia.

I married Fred Cantor. We celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary this year on June 15th!
We have two children- Alan (Ronna) Cantor and Joan (Fred) Weiss; three grandchildren
– Jillian (Greg) Goldner, Rachel Cantor and Saul (Alanna) Weiss; and two greatgrandsons
We live in beautiful Bucks County, PA – just outside of the Philadelphia area.

Alan is an Aerospace engineer specializing in crash test safety and Ronna was a French
teacher. Their daughters are spread around the country. Jillian, Greg and their son live in
Tucson, Arizona where Greg teaches Music and Jillian is a writer and is teaching College
English. Rachel lives in Tampa, Florida and has her own employment firm.

Joan is a Professor of Marketing and Management at Bucks County Community College
and her husband Fred is a Dentist. Saul, Alanna and Darrian also live in Bucks County.
Saul, our grandson was not so close to home though previously. Saul served in the US
Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard which took him to Germany, Kosovo, Bosnia
and finally Iraq. He was injured in Iraq in October of 2005 when an IED exploded under
his vehicle. He lost part of his hand and the sight in one eye – and received the Purple
Heart. The good news is that Saul received a full Military Retirement and is now
finishing up school with plans of entering Dental School in the next year or so. Alanna is
in retail.

Previously Fred and I made a family heritage journal after doing research for a couple of
years. This was our present to Saul on his Bar Mitzvah over 13 years ago. We have
collected family pictures and I would like to try to post as many as I can.

I hope that you will all enjoy the contribution we are making to this Blog.
