This is Freida Roitman(?) Diamond, Alter's wife and my great grandmother. My mother sent the photo a while ago, and I'm not sure where it came from. If anyone else has photos of her or Alter or their children, please post them - I'd love to see them.
For some context, here's a note I got from Fradele Feld, who has been doing a huge amount of research:
I have been doing some research at the archives in Philadelphia about our grandparents – your great grandparents, & some interesting information.
Alter Diamond (how he is listed) came from Russia, & Frieda (listed as Fannie) came from Bulgaria. I haven’t been able to get any more specific info, as I haven’t yet found the ship manifest (which I did find from my father’s side).
The most exciting thing I found was a copy of his naturalization papers, which the county clerk of Cape May was nice enough to send me, as they lived in Woodbine NJ. I got chills seeing his signature (very nice handwriting) even though I never knew him.
